I used to see it all the time on a message board I moderated. Actually, we had a special forum where we’d move all the spambot posts, and then make fun of them, kind of MST3K-style. We got some of the best in-jokes out of that forum. Good times.

That sounds awesome, haha. I have left some of the posts there because of how amusing they are.

Maybe just for ones that are “classic” and delete the others.

I think I will do it. Also, as mentioned before, my policy is: if it looks like spam I will delete it, if you post spam more than once, especially with no non-spam posts, you will be deleted.

The spam-relocation thread might be useful for 42 and I to see if people have been posting repeatedly. The toughest thing is that most accounts just post the once. And there are hundreds of accounts with no posts, some of which are just innocent lurkers, but many of which are spamlicious. Oh well. you do what you can right?

I once looked at the member list, and I had trouble finding a name that wasn’t a spambot. It’s insane.

Relocation thread would be awesome, I support it.

I’ve been implementing a bunch of anti-spam software.  So you’ll see some things change.  The spam is most likely coming from “link farms”, company’s who use real people to sign up and post there sites links in there bio to get better Google page ranks.  Keep up the good work!! I might need your help here in a bit with weeding out the 19000 spam users.
