Either these are clever spambots, or regular people who are trying to make money or something. It’s weird, I haven’t seen them so legit anywhere else.
I don’t want to ban the users until they go overboard.
*Begins talking in a gravely voice*
Everyone. Gather around the campfire, I have a story I feel I should tell you. This story takes place during a better time, a much more innocent time. I, only a youngun’, had joined a forum, just like this one, where we could talk about our favorite things. We laughed together, cried together, we fought with each other…But it was alright, for we knew, that we still cared about each other. Then one day, everything changed, it was subtle at first, only one spam poster had signed up. But then that one became two, two became four, four became fourty. Before we knew it, we were overrun…Know matter what we tried, every attempt to stop them just fell to pieces. Eventually, it became so much of a nuisance, that people stopped posting.
I tried to check back on the site a while back, unfortunately, it doesn’t even exist now. I know that there isn’t anything I could’ve done to save it, but I can use that experience to warn other, newer forums that I join. It doesn’t matter how you stop them, send ‘em a pm telling them that if they don’t start posting something topical then ban them. Set up one of those things during registration where you have to enter the letters you see in a white little box…You know the ones I’m talking about. However you do it, you HAVE to stop them, before it’s too late. I will NOT see another site taken down by SPAMBOTS! NOT THIS SITE, NOT AGAIN!
Also…*high five*...I can’t leave ya’ hanging.
