The books are great (so far), and so is the movie. But I believe they should be treated like the Hitchhiker’s series. It’s not that the movie is a hyper condensed version of the books (it is, but bare with me here), it’s just another telling of the same story.

I completely agree. The Hitchhiker’s Guide movie was awesome by the way.
